Each day this week, you will have the privilege of being inside an international classroom with the opportunity to expand your global business knowledge through diverse perspectives that will be delivered by professors from all over the world. For select programs in the School of Business & Management, students will have the opportunity to qualify to earn up to 2 courses during their time abroad, pending successful completion of all coursework. Course equivalency confirmation will be provided to students for qualifying courses after registration. DAY 1:  MAY 4, 2023

Prepare to take your education to soaring new heights this week! Grab your bags and head to Toronto Pearson International Airport where you will be joined by your fellow Niagara College classmates to embark on a week full of amazing sights, experiences, and most of all, global education!

DAY 2: MAY 5, 2023

Welcome to Frankfurt! This bustling city is home to Europe’s third largest airport, the financial capital of Germany and home to the Frankfurter hotdog. With only a few short days in Frankfurt, we waste no time and take the train into the city to check into our hotel and freshen up before enjoying a food tour! There is nothing quite like food to bring people together. Get to know your classmates by breaking bread, or a strudel, and get acquainted with bustling Frankfurt.

DAY 3: MAY 6, 2023

Wake up feeling rested and enjoy a hearty German breakfast before seizing the day ahead. We start our day by looking at Frankfurt from a new perspective – on the River Main! Walk down to the waterfront to head off on a river cruise and relax while gazing at the skyline as you sail past.

Frankfurt is home to some of Germany’s most interesting museums and today we will be visiting one of the more notable museums in Frankfurt, the Städel Museum. Established as a civic foundation in 1815 by the banker and businessman Johann Friedrich Städel, the Städel Museum ranks as Germany’s oldest museum foundation and offers over 700 years of European art from the early fourteenth century to the present. Walk to the Städel Museum after your river cruise concludes to take in some of the world’s most infamous pieces of art.

DAY 4: MAY 7, 2023

Now that we have had time to shake off our jetlag and adjust, it’s time to leave Frankfurt and take the train to Osnabruck where we will enjoy an incredible week of global education at the internationally recognized Hochschule Osnabruck!

DAY 5 – 9: MAY 8 – 12, 2023

Each day this week, you will have the privilege of being inside an international classroom with the opportunity to expand your global business knowledge through diverse perspectives that will be delivered by professors from all over the world. For select programs in the School of Business & Management, students may have the opportunity to qualify to earn up to 2 courses during their time abroad, pending successful completion of all coursework. Course equivalency confirmation will be provided to students for qualifying courses after registration.

Educational sessions will mostly take place from 9 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday and from 9 AM – 1 PM on Friday. These education sessions are not optional and require full attendance whether you will receive academic credit or not. The evenings will be free to explore the city of Osnabruck at your leisure with your new classmates.

DAY 10: MAY 13, 2023

To cap off our time in Germany, today we leave Osnabruck to travel north to Bremerhaven to visit Deutsches Auswandererhaus. Take an exciting journey through time into the history of emigration and immigration in Germany and Europe. Through authentic recreations, discover the journey that many experienced on their path to a new life.

Enjoy your final evening in Osnabruck at your leisure.

DAY 11: MAY 14, 2023

Pack your bags and wave your goodbyes as we check out of our hotel and take the train back to the Frankfurt airport to return to Toronto. Auf Wiedersehen Deutschland!

Disclaimers: Be World Ready does their best to execute the itinerary as outlined above, however all elements are subject to change based on availability or requirement to adapt due to circumstances outside of our control. Cost of the overall experience may fluctuate up to a maximum of $200.00 +/- CAD due to volume of participants and local exchange rate. Students will be informed in writing as early as possible if it is foreseen that the cost will increase. Students are also reminded that it is their responsibility to research the entry requirements to the destination countries visited per their nationality and vaccination status.

* Price per student is in Canadian Dollars and reflects the Be World Ready (BWR) grant which has been applied to the total trip cost to heavily subsidize the rate per person for our Spring 2023 International Field Studies (IFS). Our future IFS BWR grants will not remain this high. To qualify for the full value of the BWR grant applied to this IFS, mandatory training and tasks are required to be completed, training and task expectations will be clearly communicated by BWR staff upon registration. Failure to complete the requirements as outlined by BWR staff will result in the value of the grant being billed back to the applicable student account, up to a maximum of $2500. Securing your seat on this trip will occur on a first come, first serve basis based on registration date, and meeting payment timelines.

This opportunity is available to all Niagara College students currently enrolled in the School of Business & Management. Students who will be completing their program in April 2023 are not eligible. You must be returning to studies for the Spring/Summer 2023 or Fall 2023 semesters to be eligible.

Please note that part-time students are not eligible for the Be World Ready Grant.
