Day 1| Depart for Las Vegas

Monday, February 24

Sit back and relax as we make our way to the entertainment capital of the world!

Day 2| UNLV

Tuesday, February 25

This morning we explore the University of Las Vegas and participate in a hospitality workshop. Since it’s first classes in 1957, UNLV has transformed itself from a small branch college into a thriving urban research institution. Along the way, the urban university has become an indispensable resource in one of the America’s fastest-growing and most enterprising cities. The afternoon will consist of a tour of the Hyper X Esports Arena. The 30,000-square-foot, multilevel arena is designed to host every form of competitive gaming, from daily play to high-stakes esports tournaments, and features a competition stage, 50-foot LED video wall, telescopic seating, PC and console gaming stations, and a network TV-quality production studio. Accompanying elements like retro gaming consoles and a comprehensive menu set the arena apart as an unrivaled esports entertainment experience for both casual and professional gamers, or even non-gamers who want an insider’s look at what’s quickly becoming one of the world’s most popular spectator sports. Students will then practice their orienteering skills and take part in a fun, Las Vegas Strip scavenger hunt for iconic landmarks before enjoying a well deserved group dinner at Battista’s Hole in the Wall.

Day 3| T-Mobile Arena

Wednesday February 26

Enjoy a morning presentation by the Flamingo Facility & Casino. This world-class hotel houses a 72,000 square foot casino and over 3,600 guest rooms. Learn from leading professionals how they manage thousands of daily visitors on the ultra-competitive Vegas Strip. This evening we will watch Vegas’s first entry into North America’s ‘Big Four’ sports as the Golden Knights take on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers! Before finding your seat go behind the scenes with a tour of T-mobile Arena where you’ll learn astonishing facts about the arena and hear stories about various headliners who have taken the stage.

Day 4| Keep Memory Alive Event Center

Thursday February 27

This morning we will have a hospitality & tourism workshop hosted by your Niagara College faculty. Following the workshop we board our chartered bus for a facility tour of Las Vegas Ballpark which was named the 2019 MiLB Triple-A Best of the Ballparks. Our facility tours continue with an excursion to Keep Memory Alive Event Center. From the mind of world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, the breathtaking Keep Memory Alive Event Center is as iconic as it is unique. Nestled in the downtown Las Vegas Symphony Park neighborhood and just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, the Keep Memory Alive Event Center is truly a one-of-a-kind of us event space for guests seeking the extraordinary. This 9,200 square foot blank canvas has transformed events that no hotel ballroom or conference room can duplicate. We then visit the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, home of nine different race tracks and one of NASCAR’s most popular races. We end the day at Old Las Vegas where students challenge each other to find key landmarks before their competitors.
