From the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square to the amazing deli’s on every corner and authentic food from many cultures around the world that call New York City home, what will you enjoy first?

Day 1| Monday October 21, 2019

Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today … I want to be a part of it, NEW YORK, NEW YORK! This morning we depart our Welland campus (front entrance) and board our Coach Canada Bus for New York City! Upon arrival into the city, we will check in at our hotel, Comfort Inn Times Square West, for a 4 night stay. After a quick freshen up and dinner on your own in the area, head out to the lights, sounds and hustle bustle of amazing Time Square! We will then take in a birds eye view and the twinkling lights of the Big Apple from the 86th floor at the Empire State Building!

Day 2| Tuesday October 22, 2019 

Get your cameras ready! This morning we are going to board our Coach Canada Bus for an exciting orientation tour of New York with a local New Yorker from Levys’ Unique New York. Highlights of the tour may include stops at Fifth Avenue, Rockerfeller Center, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Times Square, Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Tribeca, Canal Street, Chinatown, Little Italy and the Brooklyn Bridge. We will conclude our tour with a stop at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to see “Reflecting Absence”, a tribute of remembrance and honor to those who lost their lives in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. We also take some time to explore the 9/11 Museum. This afternoon we explore one of the world’s largest and finest art museums: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. With over 5000 years of art from every corner of the world, you will be in awe as you walk the halls of history, admiring pieces from some of the greatest artists of all time!

Day 3| Wednesday, October 23, 2019 

Today, we discover the American dream as we begin our day with a visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Come see the sight that greeted many people to America for the first time. While walking through the Peopling of America Center at Ellis Island, learn of the journey to America and all of its stories of struggle and survival. Next, we take the ferry back from the Statue of Liberty to Battery Park where we will meet our Coach Canada Bus and explore some of New York’s iconic museums: C Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design. We begin our visit at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Built in 1959 by Frank Lloyd Wright, this museum is internationally renowned and one of the most significant architectural icons of the 20th century. In 2015, it was nominated by the United States to be included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List. We then head over to the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, located on NYC’s Museum Mile in the historic, landmark Carnegie Mansion.

Day 4|October 24, 2019 

Prepare to be inspired as we head out on our Coach Canada Bus this morning for another great tour with Levys’ Unique New York: From Graffiti to Galleries. This tour will take us through some of New York’s best and exciting neighbourhoods for art. After our tour, we will stop in at the famous Chelsea Market for lunch before we visit the Whitney Museum of American Art and see one of the finest collections of 20th century American art in the world. Following our visit at the museum, we take to the streets of the Chelsea area, exploring all that the area has to offer, including a walk on the highline! This elevated promenade, built on a historic freight rail line offers great views of the neighbourhood – a mix of industrial landmarks and experimental art galleries. As we stroll the streets, feast your eyes on sky high graffiti murals while learning about street art’s crucial and controversial role in the city.

Day 5| October 25, 2019 

On our final day in New York City we have a free morning and afternoon to explore NYC, like areas such as Fifth Avenue, Rockerfeller Center, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Tribeca, Canal Street, Chinatown, Little Italy and Central Park. Today we do have the bus, therefore transportation is by foot, taxi or subway. Concluding this great day is a visit to The Museum of Modern Art for UNIQLO Free Friday night. Visitors enjoy free admission every Friday evening from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. MoMa is one of the world’s largest museums devoted to modern and contemporary art, seeking to create a dialogue between the established and the experimental, the past and the present, in an environment that is responsible to the issues of modern and contemporary art.
