There are three campi: Santo Amaro, in São Paulo, Águas de São Pedro and Campos do Jordao, in the countryside.

Santo Amaro Campus

Opened in 2004, it is one of the main references of higher education in the country. Ample spaces, trees, modern and horizontal buildings compose a favorable scenario for the immersion in the experience of knowledge. The facilities provide access for people with disabilities through ramps and elevators. The thematic laboratories, one of the bases of the educational project, cover specialties such as fashion design, modeling, Geoprocessing, cartography, chemical analysis, hospitality and many others, with the goal of providing experiences and the application of theoretical learning. The campus also has pedagogical environments for gastronomy, a centralized library which ranks among the largest in Brazil, a convention center and a sports center.

In these two cities, the Senac University Center campi work in conjunction with Senac’s Hotel-school –Grande Hotel São Pedro and Grande Hotel Campos do Jordão – which form the largest educational complex of tourism, hospitality and cuisine in Latin America. Senac University Center Students have the privilege of developing their learning in line with the most demanding market trends, in environments of technical excellence recognized with several awards.

Language Requirements:

Students must be fluent in Portuguese as all coursework will be taught in Portuguese.

Tuition & Academic Fees:

Students will pay their regular Niagara College Tuition. Students are not required to pay the tuition of SENAC. The only ‘additional’ academic expenses will be classroom materials such as textbooks.

Accommodation:

SENAC does not offer on campus accommodation. SENAC has partnership with hostels in São Paulo city and their international department is able to assist exchange students with finding accomodation for the duration of their time in Brazil.

SENAC advises students to book at least two weeks in a hotel/hostel upon arrival in São Paulo. Once he/she gets in the city, it’s easier to find a place to stay that meets student’s  expectations.

Cost of Living:

Cost of living will increase or decrease depending on comfort, proximity to city center, meals, transportation and lifestyle however a general estimate would be R$2.000,00 (two tousand reals) per month, considering accomodation, transportation and meals. Students who have a strong interest in travelling to other South American countries, sightseeing and participating in paid tours may see this estimate increase significantly.

  • SENAC offers a paid Gym/Sports centre on campus. Students will receive a 50% discount on regular price.

Visa:

A student visa is not required for stays of up to 90 days. To stay more than 90 days, you must obtain an extension from the Federal Police for a maximum stay of 180 days per period of 12 months.

To request a visa extension, you will have to:

  • request such an extension prior to the expiration of the authorized stay
  • provide your detailed (long-form) birth certificate

In order for your Canadian long form birth certificate to be accepted in Brazil, it must be presented to the Brazilian Embassy or one of its consulates prior to departure from Canada. Neither the Embassy of Canada nor its consulates in Brazil can authenticate a Canadian birth certificate outside of Canada.
