The Ireland Be World Ready experience is geared to an individual who seeks adventure with regards to the Irish Culture and their history in the beverage industry.

Students will visit three cities in Ireland; Dublin, Cork and Galway, while experiencing iconic destinations like the Guinness Brewery, The Jameson Distillery and the Blarney Castle. Time will be spent at CIT and Galway Mayo for seminars on Industry related topics.

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Dublin

Meet your Trip Manager and driver at the airport for a transfer in to the city. After check-in at your hotel, join the group and discover Dublin·s fascinating heritage. Dublin has it all shopping wise, so get some pointers from your Trip Manager and hit the shops on Grafton Street, or poke around Dublin’s many bookstores.

Day 2 Dublin to Cork

En route to Cork, we stop at charming Kilkenny for lunch,with a chance for an optional bike ride  if you feel like a unique perspective of the city. Discover Kilkenny’s medieval charm and its signature sites, Kilkenny Castle and St Canice’s Cathedral.

Later, it’s onto the next destination on our list, colourful Cork, set on the banks of the River Lee. Stop off en route in Midleton at the Jamesons Distillery, dating back to 1795. Take a journey through history and see the old kilns, mills and malting, water wheel and old warehouses. Of course. you’ll get to try a little tipple at the end! Upon arrival in Cork, join your Trip Manager for a walking tour of the colourful city.

Day 3 Cork

In the morning, visit Cork Institute of Technology for a lecture organized by your professors. Later, spend some time at the famous Old English market and indulge in the food that makes Cork so famous. You can get everything from meats and sandwiches to cakes and chocolates

Day 4 Cork to Galway

Today we move on from Cork and head for Galway. Pucker up, because we’re a visiting Blarney Castle and its famous Blarney Stone! Irish folklore tells us that anyone who kisses this chunk of limestone is granted the gift of the gab. We continue to the beautiful Cliffs of Moher, where the spine tingling, nail biting cliff faces give beautiful yet terrifying views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Once we arrive in Galwoy, your trip manager will make you come to understand why two nights were needed here on a walking tour.

Day 5 Galway

Today you’ll attend a lecture organized by Niagara College, and the rest of your day will be at leisure. Try your tongue at some Gaelic, and carry on exploring the gorgeous city. If you hear the call of the wild, you can sign yourself up for a ferry ride to the Aran Islands. You can dance with horses and take a bike ride around the picturesque forms.

Day 6 Galway to Belfast

We head up to Northern Ireland today to the UNESCO listed Giant’s Causeway. With approximately 40,000 rock columns packed together, reaching heights of 12 m, this unbelievable rock formation will give you goose bumps. We then head to Belfast, where we’ll learn more about this intriguing city on a driving tour with our Local Guide.

Day 7 Belfast to Dublin

Back into buzzing Dublin, you’ve got time to explore more of this charismatic capital. We get down to business with a sightseeing tour. We’ll show you Trinity College, the Monument of Light, Parnell Square, and so much more. We end the tour with a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, which gives you the chance to learn how this famous drink is brewed, and of course you’ll get to sample at the end. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to say goodbye to Dublin.

Day 8 Depart Dublin

After breakfast, board the coach for the last time for a transfer to the airport. Reminisce with your classmates, and say goodbye to the Emerald Isle

$550 is due March 14, 2018

Second Payment

$550 is due March 23, 2018

Third Payment

$550 is due April 6, 2018

Fourth Payment

$450 +/- is due April 20, 2018

Option 1—Direct Deposit – Online

When making payment through online banking:

  • Set up Niagara College as the payee and use your student number as the account number
  • Once payment is made, you MUST email studentaccounts@niagaracollege.ca and provide your name, student number, payment amount and indicate that payment is for International Field Study: Ireland Hospitality & Tourism Spring 2018. Please copy Be World Ready, at beworldready@niagaracollege.ca on the email
  • The following business day the payment will be uploaded to your student account and as long as Student Accounts receive an email from you, the IFS charge will be posted accordingly

Option 2—In Person

Go to Student Accounts located in the Registrar’s office at Niagara College. There is one at each campus. Have your student number available. Indicate that you would like to make a payment for an International Field Study: Ireland Hospitality & Tourism Spring 2018. Make payment (either deposit or final payment) for your International Opportunity to your student account.

Cancellation Policy

Students MUST email the Be World Ready team immediately at beworldready@niagaracollege.ca, from their Niagara College student email account, to notify the team of your decision to no longer participate in an IFS. If no notification of cancelation is received by email to the Be World Ready team after the initial deposit date, all payments are 100% non-refundable regardless of the below schedule of cancellation fees.

It is imperative that the Be World Ready team is notified of your choice to withdraw from any IFS as soon as possible. A missed payment is not considered a notification of no longer wishing to participate in an IFS an email must be sent to beworldready@niagaracollege.ca expressing your desire to withdrawal.

If a student needs to cancel their International Field Study, they may qualify for a refund of monies paid based on the schedule of cancellation fees outlined below:

Schedule of Cancellation Fees
  • 0—30 days of deposit date: Refunds will be granted based on vendor/supplier payments made by the cancelation date
  • 31—60 days of deposit date: 50% loss of all payments made to date
  • 61+ days of deposit date: All payments 100% non-refundable

    • Please ensure all text is legible as this is required to book your airline ticket
  • Pay the deposit (spots for this trip are only secured after a deposit payment has be made)

Grant Eligibility

All, full-time Niagara College students participating in an international activity are eligible for up to $500 worth of Be World Ready grants to help offset the cost of their experience. In order to qualify for the grant:

  • Apply to an international experience
  • Attend a mandatory pre-departure meeting (dates to be determined)
  • Complete the online pre-departure component (consisting of Blackboard modules and forms to sign)
  • Successfully attend the international experience
  • Upon return, submit two high-quality photos along with a well-written testimonial referencing your experience abroad to the Be World Ready team
Note: if we will be flying through the United States of America, you must have permission to enter and leave the United States. If you require a U.S travel visa it is your responsibility to obtain this document and email beworldready@niagaracollege.ca a copy/photo.
