Travel Agreement

1.I understand and accept that traveling, living, and working in the developing world may present greater risks and hazards than similar activities in Canada.

2.I also understand and accept that such risks and hazards are beyond the control of NiagaraCollege and the Host Project institution, and that all such risks are borne solely by me.

3.Niagara College will not be responsible for the loss or damage of luggage and/or personal belongings.

4.The responsibilities that I have during this assignment have been made clear to me.

5.I understand that it is my sole responsibility to consult a medical professional regarding any necessary medications or vaccinations that pertain to my travels.

6.Neither I nor my dependents and/or family members will make claims relating to possible death, disease, illness, injury or disability arising out of this assignment, unless such negligent acts or omissions are at the direction of or occasioned by Niagara College.

Violation of the laws, rules, regulations or customs of the host country
•Conduct that damages or destroys property
•Behaviour or engagement in activities which give the faculty lead reasonable cause to believethat the continued presence of the student in the program constitutes a danger to the healthor safety of themselves, or threatens the future viability of the program
•Alcohol misuse or possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs in accordance with the lawsof the host country and Canada
•Physical or sexual assault or harassment
•Harassment or bullying
•Theft or criminal activity

Students registering for and making initial deposit towards an IFS are considered committed for that IFS. After the initial deposit for each International Field Study (IFS), Niagara College begins making payments to suppliers (airlines, accommodations, and in-country destination management companies) for these IFS’. Therefore, all students who cancel their participation after their initial deposit will be required to pay 100% of the original IFS cost, and no refunds will be issued. For students who choose to make payments in accordance to the established IFS payment scheduled and miss a payment, the installment will be charged directly to the students’ account and a late fee will be applied to each missed payment. For Niagara College students requiring an international country visa, you are required to make your payments as per the payment schedule for your respective International Field Study. You cannot defer your payments until after a decision has been made on your country visa. Niagara College’s international travel insurance policy will allow students to make an insurance claim to receive a refund for fees paid towards an International Field Study if your visa is denied.

I have reviewed the payment schedule for my experience abroad and acknowledge any payment made after 4pm on the day the payment is due will be subject to a $25 late fee.
