 Tuition & Academic Fees:

Students will pay their regular Niagara College Tuition. Students are not required to pay the tuition of GMIT. The only ‘additional’ academic expenses will be classroom materials such as textbooks.

Language Requirement:

Applicants whose first language is NOT English are required to provide evidence of English language proficiency.

Visa:

Full details of the visa requirements can be found on the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website. There is a special section devoted to Student Visa Guidelines which explains the documentation which must be provided.

Allow a minimum of 8 weeks for a visa application to be processed.  Applications can be tracked on the INIS website by entering the visa reference number given.

Re-entry Visa:
If a non-EU student wishes to return home or travel outside Ireland during their studies, a re-entry visa is required. This can only be obtained from the GNIB office in Burgh Quay in central Dublin. The cost is 150 Euro.

Accommodation:

GMIT does not offer on campus accommodation for students. At the beginning of each academic year an online accommodation listings service is provided by GMIT Students Union on their website. It provides a list of the different types of accommodation (houses, flats, full and partial board) available near the Galway, Mayo, Letterfrack and Mountbellew campuses. Guidelines on rental arrangements are published in the Students’ Guide and Welfare Booklet issued by GMIT Students’ Union. Information on Tenant Rights is also available online on the GMIT Students Union website.

Student Villages

A number of purpose-built student villages are located near GMIT Galway and Mayo campuses. These student villages are owned and run by private operators.
