Position Description:

Position Duties:
• Collaborate and plan exciting and engaging lessons that are age and skill appropriate
• Plan lessons and assessments according to curriculum outcomes
• Support the development of goals setting with supervisor for students and work toward
• Get to know the cultures in the classroom and respond through a variety of instructional and learning resources, activities, and strategies
• Assess performance formally and informally in a timely manner
• Keep an organized and orderly classroom that promotes creativity, respect and learning
• Use culturally and age-appropriate classroom management techniques
• Complete reports and necessary documents in a neat and timely manner
• Be active in the school community and events
• Follow and promote administration and school-wide policies
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Current student at Niagara College in the Early Childhood Education program – Should be in Year 2, 4th Semester during Fall 2025 term
• Completed PRAC 1101/1111, PRAC 1206/1216 and PRAC 1306
• In good academic standing
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Patient and compassionate with young children’s needs and emotions
• Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Efficient time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, Good Suite and general teaching technology
• Flexible, adaptable, and resilient
• Demonstrated intercultural competence
